There are hundreds of places to eat on the peninsula so the choice can be overwhelming but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
All the restaurants on this page are saved to our interactive restaurant map on Google maps.
Please do not think that this list is exhaustive; there are plenty of great restaurants on the Peninsula that we have not had the chance to eat at yet. If you find one particularly interesting, don’t hesitate to let us know and we would be only too happy to go and try it out.
Fine Dining
Michelin Stars – there are currently 11 Michelin star restaurants on the Peninsula, which is pretty impressive for a place with less people than York! Most have 1 star but Torre del Sarracino has two stars and Quattro Passi has three stars. We have eaten in 4 of them; Il Buco, Taverna del Capitano, Relais Blu, and Quattro Passi. Obviously, they are really good which is why they have Michelin stars but the only one that I would rush back to is Relais Blu, mainly because of the view. We enjoyed the other meals and there was nothing to complain about, but Relais Blu felt special and magical and well worth the detour.
Other Fine Dining – you do NOT need to go to Michelin star restaurants, however, to find fine dining on the Peninsula. We have enjoyed exquisite food in plenty of other restaurants and you should too. Here are some of our favourites.
- L’Antica Trattoria, Sorrento – stunning food, friendly service. A local haunt hidden in a touristy bubble. Absolutely worthy of the fine dining accolade.
- Terrazza Fiorella, Massa Lubrense – has great food, amazing views, and is probably well on its way to a Michelin star.
- Lo Scoglio, Marina del Cantone – this is where all the famous people who are too good for Michelin star restaurants go to eat (they pick them up from their super yachts and drop them back off again afterwards!) It can be hard to get a table but wroth it if you can.
Quality Italian Fare
- Zio Antonio, Sorrento Town centre – this is our go-to restaurant for a meal out as it never disappoints. The food is consistently great but with decent portions, service comes with classic Italian banter, and the desserts must not be missed. There is also another branch down by the sea but we haven’t tried it yet (if you do, please let us know how it is :).
- Antico Francischiello, Massa Lubrense – another ancient restaurant with amazing views and handy location. It’s open all year round so ideal for a winter meal with a view.
- Il Cantuccio, Marina del Cantone – always packed, this restaurant guarantees good food and good view. We have been back MANY times.
- Il Cantuccio, Massa Lubrense – our go to place in Massa Lubrense. Great food, reasonable service, try to sit outside if you can.
- O’Parrucchiano La Favorita, Sorrento – too big for fine dining, this classic restaurant has been around since 1868 and is the perfect place for a big dinner, especially with families.
- Maria Grazie, Marina del Cantone – another delicious but slightly cheaper option on the beach. Ask them for a selection of antipastis and you won’t be disappointed.
Hidden Gems
If you’re looking for something quaint, delicious, and off the beaten track, we highly recomend the following:
- Ristorante La Torre One Fire, Annunziata – small and understated, this restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and delicious, home cooked style food.
- Nastro d’Oro, Marciano – if you like views, they don’t come better than this and it’s not expensive either. The very definition of a hidden gem.
- La Tavernetta, Il Puolo – if you just want a decent restaurant right next to the sea, this is perfect for you.
- Il Verricello, Meta – we were BLOWN AWAY by the food at this little beachside restaurant. We were not expecting it to be so good but the food was unbelievable and the setting was stunning.
- Tutt’appost, Sant’Agata – If you’re bored of classic Italian food and would like to mix it up with a little fusion, this place has surprisingly amazing food in a cool, modern atmosphere. From the outside it looks like a normal bar but ask for a table on the back “terrraza” and you’ll certainly be impressed.
